Japanese UAV operator, Terra Drone Company, have just extended their reach into the Australian market by launching offices in Sydney and Melbourne.
It has been only five months since Terra Drone established its first Australian office in Brisbane in January 2017. In Brisbane, Terra Drone is reportedly working with the local government to commence business in the fields of mining, railway and pipeline construction. The two new offices are strategically placed to support the increasing demand for construction companies in Sydney and Melbourne to develop land quickly and more efficiently.
Terra Drone’s announcement of the expansion stated that it is focussing on Australia to address “numerous issues that arise in the construction industry, including hazardous work environments and problems with quality of produce in… Australia.”
In comparison to traditional surveying techniques, Terra Drone claim their customised UAV systems have the capability to reduce time and costs. The company claim they can operate their systems at a cost between one fifth and one third of the traditional costs.
The company is headquartered in Tokyo, with branches scattered throughout Japan, Australia and Indonesia. Its original drone technology, enables high security quality, high speed data analysis and reflexive response. Its drones are also completely programmable and have the capability to continue a flight sequence for two hours autonomously.
Terra Drones’ targeted clients include major construction companies, civil engineering firms and land surveying companies. Terra Drone is part of Terra Motors, manufacturers of electric-motor bicycles and tricycles.
