2015 APSEA and GITA award winners announced

Winner of both the JK Barrie award as well as the People & Community APSEA awards, the ‘Pacific Island Coastal Inundation Capacity Building & Planning’ project, aka Vanuatu Globe.

 

 

The Asia-Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards (APSEA) Gala Dinner was held in-tandem with the recent Locate 15 conference, on 11 March 2015 at the Grand Plaza Ballroom of the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The APSEA awards play an important part in highlighting the accomplishments and recognising the skills and outstanding achievements of organisations and individuals in the spatial industry.

The 2015 award winners include:

Winner of Export Award: We-do-IT – LatLonGo, a Mobile GIS for distributing enterprise data to mobile tablets and web clients.

Winner of People & Community Award: AAM Pty Ltd, NGIS Australia & CRC for Spatial Information – Pacific Island coastal inundation capacity building and planning

Winner of Innovation & Commercialisation: Augview – Mobile Augmented Reality asset management application.

Highly commended for Innovation and Commercialisation: HERE Transport – HERE Trucks

Winner of Spatial Enablement: New Zealand Police – SMART client: Generating insight into Police’s operational environment.

Winner of Technical Excellence: Department of Primary Industries Parks Water Environment, Tasmania – Spatial Information Foundations Project (SIFS).

Winner of Sustainability & Environment: Pitt & Sherry – Climate Asyst

JK Barrie Award: AAM Pty Ltd, NGIS Australia & CRC for Spatial Information Pacific Island Coastal Inundation Capacity Building & Planning.

SIBA Chairman’s Award: Dr. Peter Woodgate

2014 Professional of the Year: Steve Forbes – ACT

2014 Young Professional of the Year: Phillip Delaney – Vic

2014 Education Development Award: Craig Roberts – NSW

2014 Undergraduate Student Award: Jack Beardsley – Tas

2014 Postgraduate Student Award: Seyedhossen Pourali – Vic

The 2015 GITA award winners include:

GITA Excellence Award: Joint award to AECOM and Origin Energy

Dial Before You Dig Award: ActewAGL

The judges noted that they were impressed by the quality and standard of all entries, and would like to congratulate both the nominees and well as the winners. Similarly, the team at Spatial Source and Position Magazine offer their congratulations, too.
