One of the largest technology events of the year, CeBIT Australia 2019, is deeply exploring the present and future of artificial intelligence from October 29 in Sydney.

Leading the program is Dr. Catriona Wallace, one of the world’s most cited experts on artificial intelligence, presenting a keynote speech titled ‘AI: Human + Machine: Who gets the upper hand?’.

Dr. Wallace’s keynote will cover practical use cases, how AI is set to transform the business world — and life as we know it.

“With AI set to replace 40 per cent of jobs and 30 per cent of business interactions in the next five years, and the time of ‘singularity’, where machines may become ‘smarter’ than humans possibly just 20 years away, the onus will be on people to successfully navigate the fourth industrial revolution,” she said.

The program features a range of sessions on AI vision and machine learning, as well as talks on AI in classrooms and AI’s role in society with respect to privacy and trust.

CeBit Autralia director Daniel Mortimer said that Artificial Intelligence is rapidly changing business, society and our world.

“This life-changing technology will be a major focus of this year’s CEBIT Australia program, with keynotes David Hanson of Hanson Robotics and Dr Catriona Wallace of Flamingo.ai speaking on the practical applications, ethics, and potential to humanise AI,” he said.

Registration is still open to delegates and exhibitors, with a range of interesting spatially-focused companies having secured stalls already — including Adiona, BindiMaps, UAMTech, Citizen Space, HYPERVSN, Maptek and many more.

CeBIT Australia 2019 will take place form October 29-31 at ICC Sydney.
