Live Locate17 demo will showcase latest scanning tech

By on 15 March, 2017

Visitors to the exhibition halls of Locate17 and Digital Earth Symposium this April will bear witness to a whole new experience in acquiring accurate spatial data. Position Partners have announced they will performing a live demonstration at Locate using one of the first ever new models from high-end laser scanning manufacturers Zoller + Fröhlich (Z+F).

Hailing from Germany, Z+F design and manufacture high-end laser scanners, which are now available in Australia and New Zealand for the first time. After announcing their new agreement with Z+F in January, Position Partners have got a hold of one Z+F’s first ever 5016 3D laser scanners and will unveil it at Locate17 with a live scanning demo.

The new scanner will be used to scan the atrium room outside the newly rebuilt theatre as well as the overpasses outside on the balcony, with point-cloud information available to view at their conference stand.

The atrium at Sydney ICC’s theatre is where part of the demo will take place.

The conference will be the first opportunity customers have to get a demo of the new system and because the scanner is already in high demand, it’s a chance for customers to confirm it fits their requirements and place a pre-order.

The 5016 model from Z+F stands out as it is smaller, lighter and faster than other high-end systems on the market. It’s packed with lots of features that the competition doesn’t have, including Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU), GPS, Compass, Barometer and built-in HDR camera.

Z+F scanners have a unique in-field registration workflow (called the Blue workflow) that cuts out a lot of time and ensures users capture the data they need then and there on site, negating the need to make adjustments in the office.

The 5016 scanner fro Z+F comes with a free training trip to Germany.

Significantly, all Z+F scanner purchases include a FREE trip for one attendee to receive manufacturer training at Z+F’s headquarters in Germany (flights and accommodation included!).

The Locate Conference and Digital Earth Symposium will take place 3-6 April at the Sydney Convention Centre, and entry to the exhibition is free during Market Day, 4 April.

Position Partners also provides local support throughout Australia and New Zealand and have the capacity to perform calibration checks on the laser scanners to minimise service turnaround times.
