Amajor spatial and mapping event will be held in Melbourne from 20 to 23 September, 2021, to explore the theme of ‘mapping the future of land administration’.

The meeting is to be a collaboration between the University of Melbourne’s Centre for Spatial Data Infrastructures and Land Administration (CSDILA) and the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG).

The event will mark the 20th anniversary of the founding of the CSDILA, the mission statement of which is to “drive the evolving concept of spatial data infrastructures to develop virtual information systems that integrate data and make it accessible for solving the demands facing modern society”.

The CSDILA undertakes research into land administration systems and spatial data infrastructures, with an emphasis on pioneering ways of “supporting sustainability of land uses and the alleviation of poverty”.

The event will include training sessions, a conference in collaboration with FIG Commission 7, a strategic forum to set the future agenda and a CSDILA celebration event.

Professionals in the field of mapping and geospatial sciences will have the opportunity to hear the latest research and the chance to network with colleagues old and new.

To be chaired by Profesor Abbas Rajabifard, Director, CSDILA, and Dr Daniel Paez, Chair, FIG Commission 7, the event will feature a stellar line-up of speakers:

  • Melissa Harris, Chief Executive, Land Use Victoria, DELWP

Participants will receive certificate of participation upon completion.
