Locate Connect announced, taking the conference online for 2020

By on 27 May, 2020

Organisers have announced the launch of Locate Connect, a new digital program aimed at delivering some of the planned content from Locate20, which was shelved due to COVID-19.

In addition to the online program, organisers said in a statement that Locate Connect will provide a platform for the industry to connect and exchange information even though industry professional would not be able to meet face to face as usual.

Over the next few months, a range of events such as Q&A features, a three day mini conference, the Hub digital and extensive industry resources will be made available, according to the announcement.

The program is free to those who have already registered and paid for Locate20 as well as to those who choose to register for Locate21. Others in the industry will be able to purchase sessions at a per session rate or the entire program for a bulk rate.

The launch of the Locate Connect digital program will take place at the end of May featuring Chair of the Locate Board, Maurits van der Vlugt; SIBA|GITA Chair, Daniel Harvey; President of SSSI, Dr Zaffar Sadiq Mohamed-Ghouse and Locate21 Convenor, Paul Reed.

The full program will be released shortly after. More information is available at the conference website.

And, for those missing the glitter and glamour of the APSEA awards, an annual Locate Conference tradition, it’s not too late to register for this year’s online affair. This year’s award ceremony, announcing the oceanic winners from the 2019 season of regional awards, will be held on Thursday 28 May at 4.30pm AEST via Zoom.

SSSI have confirmed that 1.5 CPD points will be allocated to those who join the event.

There is no cost to attend. More information can be found on the APSEA website.
