Locate organisers pledge safe event, monitoring COVID-19

By on 10 March, 2020

The organisers of the upcoming Locate20 conference in Brisbane have issued a statement to potential attendees addressing coronavirus COVID-19, reproduced below.

Locate Conferences Australia understands the concerns and associated uncertainties around the unfolding Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis and the impact it has on our event and you as a delegate, speaker or exhibitor.

We are committed to proceeding with a safe event, while complying with all guidelines and directives from the health authorities.

The Locate Conferences Australia Board is monitoring the advice from both the Queensland and National Departments of Health regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19), which currently is that: “There is no need to cancel any events or gatherings or take additional precautions to normal practice. People who are unwell should not attend public events”.

Be assured that we are working to deliver an excellent and safe event to all. This includes providing enhanced hygiene and health measures at the conference.

In the unlikely event that the conference needs to be cancelled, delegates and exhibitors/sponsors will be provided with a full refund. Alternatively, if the conference cannot go ahead at the proposed date, we may reschedule it.

We continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide regular updates to participants.

See our website for continued updates or for any questions, please contact the Locate Conference Secretariat;
