Bentley Systems at last year’s Locate Conference

With Locate20 just over 3 months away, organisers have announced geospatial powerhouses GHD Digital and Bentley Systems as major sponsors for the event.

The theme of the Locate Conference in 2020 is “Convergence, Collaboration and Community – towards a stronger economy”. Organisers say the event, taking place in Brisbane between 28-30 April, will seek to highlight the convergence of technologies across industries and will look at how  collaboration and cross pollination can enhance the geospatial industry and in turn flow into practical economic benefits.

Locate20 convenor Paul Reed says one of the major challenges facing the industry today is the ability to handle large amounts of data. He says this is highlighted by the return of Bentley Systems as a Silver Sponsor, as the software provider will be showcasing their Digital Cities capabilities at Locate20.

Product consultant for digital cities at Bentley Glen Burke stated that he is “excited to be at Locate20 showcasing our Reality Modelling offerings that are making city-scale digital twins broadly accessible and enabling every city government in Australia to go digital.”

In another major announcement, organisers say global services company GHD Digital has signed on as a Bronze Sponsor for the event in order to showcase their commitment to building a stronger economy through technical collaboration and its positive impacts on the community, consequently integrating with the Locate20 conference theme.

“At Locate20, the GHD Digital Location Intelligence team brings together spatial professionals and techniques towards unlocking data potential to provide solutions addressing the colour blind, fauna movements, multi-criteria land use assessments, defence and the community,” says event convenor Paul Reed.

GHD Digital and Bentley Systems will be joined by 40 other sponsors and exhibitors at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre between the 28th and 30th of April.

Early bird registration is still available for the event, but only until the end of January. For more information, see the conference registration page here.
