The Locate22 organising team reports that work is progressing well on the program for the conference and exhibition, which is to be held in Canberra from 24 to 26 May, 2022.

The format will see a welcome return to presenters attending the conference in-person and making their presentations live.

The program will feature a range of activities and interactions, with something to suit all attendees:

  • Keynote presentations
  • Themed breakout sessions
  • Workshops
  • Panel discussions
  • Presentation of the Asia Pacific Spatial Excellence Awards
  • Local site visits
  • Breakfast sessions
  • Technology talks
  • The Locate Hub
  • Young Professional (YP) and Early Career Researcher Symposium

Many leading industry experts have already been confirmed as speakers, a list of which can be found on the Locate22 website.

Opportunities still exist for abstract submissions, workshop pitches and Locate Hub ideas, the deadline for which is 31 January.

Delegate registrations are expected to open within the next week, with Super Early Bird Special rates available for the first 100 registrations (members, delegates and YPs only). This offer will be available for only a limited time.

A subcommittee is working on the program for the Young Professional (YP) and Early Career Researcher Symposium and workshop to be held on the 22nd, with full detail of the content and social activities to be released early next year.

There are sponsorships available to help YPs attend — keep an eye on relevant Locate22 web page for details as they are released.

Details of workshops, site visits and pre-conference social activities will be announced in March.

Vendors and other organisations who are considering taking part in the exhibition should not delay contacting the organisers, as places are limited and the exhibition is expected to sell out.

Some exhibition packages will provide an opportunity to be involved in the tech talks session being held on the Tuesday, 22 January.

As this will be the first time in roughly two years that members of the surveying, space and spatial communities will have been able to come together in person, it will also be the first time in two years that those people will have been able to see and touch the latest technology and innovations in an exhibition format.

Position magazine and Spatial Source (both of which are official Locate22 partners) have a range of promotional preview opportunities available for companies to encourage visitations at the exhibition.

If your company or organisation will be displaying and demonstrating its products or services, we invite you to promote them in the special Preview section of the February issue of Position magazine. Your preview will be seen by thousands of industry members, and will help to illustrate why attendees should seek you out at Locate22.
