Pitney Bowes has announced a new vice president of software for Asia-Pacific region, as well as the 2014 release of the pbEncom Discover PA application.
The new release allows users to explore, interpret, and visualise 3D earth models and geophysical data. This release provides enhancements to the data analysis and interpretation application of previous versions.
Improvements have been made to the stability of data loading and rendering, the quality of data output, and increased functionality of current data utilities.
“Discover PA is the most cost-effective, advanced geophysical interpretation tool available today.” said Dan Haigh, natural resources industry manager, Pitney Bowes Software. “The enhancements in this new release are in direct response to our clients’ requests, helping them to make better data-led decisions in their project interpretations and report production.”
Release highlights include:
- Windows 8 operating system compatibility for both 32-bit and 64-bit systems
- New “Check for Updates” option
- New GM Toolkit for advanced potential field data processing
- Some new processing options in the Line Utility
- Histogram balanced colour mapping for section profiles.

New vice president software for the Asia-Pacific region
In addition to the new Discover PA release, Pitney Bowes has also announced David Hope as the company’s new vice president software for the Asia-Pacific region.
Hope will report to Mark Wright, executive vice president and president, Pitney Bowes Software and Ecommerce Solutions.
“David will lead our APAC software team and brings more than 15 years of experience in the high tech industry in the Asia-Pacific region,” said Wright. “With a strong client-centric approach and deep expertise, he will help drive growth and adoption of the company’s expanding software portfolio.”
Prior to Pitney Bowes, Hope had regional leadership roles with IBM, Intentia, and Lawson. Recently, he was the regional managing director at INFOR Global Solutions, Asia Pacific South. In this role, he was responsible for revenue generation for South-East Asia, India, Australia, and New Zealand through a combination of both direct and channel sales with offices throughout the region supporting over 3,000 clients.

In March, Pitney Bowes will continue to enhance its presence in Australia with the merging of the software and mailing division head offices into one unified operation at Macquarie Park, NSW.
