SMIC, TAFE offer $1,500 scholarships

The Surveying & Mapping Industry Council of NSW (SMIC) in conjunction with TAFE NSW offer a scholarship program for potential part-time teachers in Surveying and Spatial Information.

The potential recipients must be studying towards their TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, a qualification that is a pre-requisite for teaching at TAFE.

The scholarships are to a value of up to $1,500.

The eligibility criteria are that the applicant must:

  • Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • Have made an application for or be enrolled in TAE40116
  • Have not received the scholarship previously
  • Hold a recognised surveying qualification

The selection criteria include the application’s academic merit, the applicant’s reasons for undertaking TAE40116, a demonstrated teaching ability and aptitude, and career direction, aspirations and goals.

Applications for the next round close Friday, 11 March 2022. Full details can be found on the SMIC website’s education page.
