With day one of Cebit Australia dusted, the rest of the program has some heavy hitters on its schedule, leading with a series of space-focused sessions on Wednesday.

Following an incandescent first day with keynotes from the likes of Flamingo AI’s  Dr. Catriona Wallace, and the UN’s Kriti Sharma CeBIT Australia’s program shifts focus to Australia’s space endeavours to kick off day two.

Virgin Galactic’s commercial director Stephen Attenborough has kicked off the morning with a keynote, followed by a discussion of Australia’s future in space from Australian – American Oceanographer Dr. Paul Scully-Powers and an extended panel session exploring this rapidly developing ecosystem.

The conference has been welcomed by the NSW government, which has been CeBIT’s principal sponsor for the last ten years.

Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney Stuart Ayres said: “We’re backing the new-look event in 2019 to showcase NSW as Australia’s tech and start-up capital. “We will help our brightest startups exhibit at CeBIT and take part in its PitchFest competition to gain exposure and the chance for venture capital investment.”

The government used the opportunity to announce a $15.4 million investment in the Sydney Quantum Academy (SQA), a centre to facilitate collaboration between universities to advance the state’s quantum industry.

Other key topic’s on CeBIT Australia’s 2019 agenda include future transport technologies, Industry 4.0, and the future of STEM education in Australia.

CeBIT Australia 2019 runs at the ICC Sydney until October 31.
