Applications are now open for the SSSI Young Professional (YP) Mentoring Program as well as a pilot Student Networking Program.

The YP Mentoring Program, now in its fifth year, has seen hundreds of surveying and spatial professionals participate and achieve personal and professional growth.

The program runs over three months and will require participants to commit to at least five hours of effort.

Key changes to the program this year are:

  1. Applications are open only to those living in the Asia-Pacific region.
  2. A fee of $55 applies to non-SSSI and non-SIBA|GITA members, to cover administration costs.

Students are reminded that SSSI student membership is free, so there’s really no excuse not to get involved.

Applications for the 2022 YP Mentoring Program close on Friday, 10 June 2022.

Piloting in 2022, the Student Networking Program will provide university and VET surveying and spatial students the opportunity to work in groups with peers from other institutions, as well as with recent graduates already working in the industry.

These networking groups will meet weekly for one hour over a three-month period (eight meetings) to discuss prescribed topics targeted to support students as they begin to consider their career paths in the industry.

The Student Networking Program is open only to Australia-based students and graduates, and participants must be current SSSI members. (Again, SSSI membership is free for students).

Applications for the Student Networking Program also close Friday, 10 June 2022.

Any queries about the two programs should be directed to yp.mentoring@sssi.org.au or students@sssi.org.au.
