Teledyne Technologies has announced it has acquired the remaining shares of LiDAR provider Optech, through its Teledyne DALSA subsidiary. The new name of Teledyne Optech will be adopted, joinging the Optech and Teledyne brands.

Teledyne was already the majority owner of Optech for three years, with 100% ownership not resulting in any significant operational changes for the organisation. Don Carswell continues as President of Teledyne Optech with all existing duties. Optech’s founder, Allan Carswell, will continue to provide leadership duties.  For the past three years Optech and Teledyne have been working alongside, with only this name change outstanding.

Teledyne Technologies is a provider of sophisticated instrumentation, digital imaging products and software, aerospace and defence electronics and engineered systems. Teledyne Technologies’ operations are primarily located in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Western and Northern Europe.

Optech is a provider of high-accuracy lidar 3D survey systems, integrated cameras, and productivity-enhancing workflows. The worldwide operating company provides both standalone and fully integrated lidar and camera solutions in airborne mapping, airborne lidar bathymetry, mobile mapping, terrestrial laser scanning, mine cavity monitoring and industrial process control, as well as space-proven sensors.
