Trimble Catalyst: High Accuracy GNSS On Your Phone

By on 23 April, 2018

Yesterday your phone could tell you where you were within a few meters. Today, with Trimble Catalyst, your phone can tell you where you are within just a few centimeters.

Trimble Catalyst is a software-defined Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) service. It uses a small, lightweight, plug-and-play digital antenna to deliver high quality satellite data to any Catalyst-ready or third party location-enabled app running on your Android phone or tablet. Available as a monthly subscription, you can select from a range of accuracy levels from meter to only a few centimeters. Simply plug in the Catalyst DA1 antenna into your Android device, launch your app, and capture information at the level of accuracy enabled by your

Catalyst subscription. Since Catalyst’s technology features a software GNSS receiver, the upfront cost to purchase the solution is dramatically reduced.

You can use nearly any location-enabled app with Trimble Catalyst, with basic functionality almost straight out of the box. However, by using the free Trimble Precision software development kit (SDK) for Catalyst, you can provide a more seamless Catalyst user experience, integrate professional GNSS functionality, and build advanced Trimble capabilities directly into your apps—enabling high-accuracy workflows and the development of specialized positions functions.

Whether you’re mapping a new subdivision, inspecting utilities, or simply doing some landscaping at your house Trimble Catalyst is ready to go to work whenever you need it.

Key features:

  • On-demand subscription service
  • 4 levels of accuracy to choose from: 1 Meter, Sub-meter, Decimeter, Precision
  • Use with Trimble apps, such as Trimble TerraFlex™ or Trimble Penmap® for Android™, or 3rd party apps
