Trimble launches compact T7 tablet

By on 21 August, 2019

The firm’s new Windows 10-based field device features multi-constellation and SBAS support, modular expansion bays and MIL-STD-810G specification.

The new handheld features a Pentium N4200 quad core processor, 8GB memory and connectivity options to spare — 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.2 and WiFi, allow it to easily run office applications in the field, which Trimble says allows users to ‘maximise performance and productivity between the field and office.’

The device features two ‘EMPOWER’ expansion slots, which can be used to swap out functionality in the field, such as 2.4 GHz radio module for controlling robotic total stations, and a sub-metre GNSS module.

The new tablet supports GPS, GLONASS and BeiDou constellations and Satellite-Based Augmentation System (SBAS) signals. Its 7-inch (17.78cm) screen is protected by Gorilla Glass.

Jason Rossback, marketing director for Trimble Geospatial field solutions, said that the enhanced computing performance, memory size and user interface translate into a faster, more reliable device for data collection in the field.

“The T7 has an ideal 7-inch screen size for mobile workers who need to manipulate map views in software such as Trimble Access, but also need a device compact and rugged enough to carry through the woods and other difficult environments,” he said.

Naturally, the T7 plays nicely with other Trimble products, such as the S-Series total stations, SX10 scanning total station, R-Series GNSS receivers and the Trimble Access and Terraflex software suites.

The new tablet will be available in August 2019 through Trimble distributors.
