Locate19’s organising committee have released a second announcement of plenary speakers for the April event.
Three new faces will grace the Locate19 line-up, joining the first plenary announcement earlier this month.
Peta Ellis has mentored over 700 entrepreneurs throughout her career, also founding a corporate pre-accelerator program and the Young Entrepreneurs Network (YEN), a community focused on connecting young entrepreneurs with industry, schools, course providers and program facilitators.
As chief executive of River City Labs and founder of 3AMTribe, Peta will draw on her current role leading Brisbane’s premier startup hub, her years of entrepreneurship and work as an advocate for women in tech to deliver a rousing plenary presentation.
Previously the managing director of Geosmart for 23 years, Phil Allen is now the vice president of sales for TomTom in the Asia-Pacific. In this role, Phil is in charge of providing the wealth of TomTom’s map and traffic data to enterprises in the smart city sector.
State governments, road controlling authorities, municipalities, emergency services and logistics-focused entities are all within his remit as clients and target audiences, and expect some illumination on using dynamic maps and traffic data to solve complex challenges in this space.
Teresa Townsend is the immediate past president of URISA, an SSSI affiliate organisation in the United States, having served in various leadership roles with the organisation over the past decade. She’s a geospatial veteran, having dedicated herself to integrating geospatial sciences in community, transportation and environmental planning fields for over 25 years.
With a professional background in urban and environmental planning, a sense of social and environmental responsibility is foundation to Teresa’s work, with key focus areas of community visioning, climate action plans, urban function and design, land use planning, smart cities, zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) infrastructure and urban greening initiatives to achieve equitable, sustainable futures.
